If you are looking for exquisite fabric in Bali you must go to Alta Moda in the Kuta galleria shopping complex . It is at the front on the main road. Ask for jimmy , he is fantastic and the staff here will spend all the time you need showing you a fantastic range of imported fabrics. They have designer fabrics eg Gucci/ Christian Doir etc and are very well priced. I have purchased my daughters Deb fabric here( Italian silk satin - paid $40 aus per meter in Bali and the same fabric here was close to $90 per meter ) I have taken many ladies here and we have found that special fabric. Go up to the top floor and enjoy the atmosphere . We used a dressmaker recommended by this store last year but we were very dissapointed in the quality of her work - her name was Lenny . Don't know if she was just rushing things but she was very unreliable turning up to fitting times and we all agreed the Ansor at Brisbane tailors did a better job. He wil however need time to just work on this type of outfit.
I have also found lovely fabrics at Duta Silk in denpasar - next to the old Matahari store just opposite mcdonalds. This store has some lovely fabrics but not as well displayed.
