that Malaysia airfare is from Auckland only. And apparently on the flight out one has to wait 15 hours in Malaysia for connecting flight to (Denpasar I think?). I guess that's the leg where you'll be staying in Malaysia, on the return trip it's only a 3 hour wait?
By the time I add on the Chch-to-Auckland airfare I'm getting up close to the $1399 fare for Air NZ/Garuda via Australia. I just checked Bali On Any Budget website and they're offering 6 nights free hotel in Bali plus airport transfers included in the $1399. So maybe from Auckland yours is a better deal, but from here in Chch I'm not so sure. Do you know what the taxes etc will be for your Malaysia deal? The deal via Australia will cost us an extra whopping $350 each in taxes, plus the visas for Bali ($60 each for 60 days) and Australia ($15 each). Thanks and cheers!
