Tom's Music on Sanur Bypass just past Kuta Galleria have a wide range of 'cheaper' electric and acoustics. I bought a bass just to mess around on and quite a deal of guitar gear, music stand, strap, cable, picks, gig bag. A friend bought a Roland Cube 30 amp for substantially less than local price, just need to change the plug.
No worries with customs, luggage or quarantine (bass is wood under all that lacquer)
I do have to spend a bit of time fixing the action on the bass and a bit of fret buzz, but that's fun.
