Can you tell me more please? Was the whole package NZ$1000-1100, or just the airfare part? How long ago did you book and who did you book it through - I thought August was 'high season' so am surprised at this low price, I've not come across anything that cheap.
Regarding airfares to Auckland I agree that cheaper flights should be available if booked in advance, but all of the travel agents I've spoken to can only come up with about $275-$350 as cheapest, which doesn't sound right to me! I will check Air NZ direct, thanks...
Re Garuda, the only website I've found for them doesn't seem to give airfare prices. So I assume I can only get their airfares to Bali from a travel agent?
This particular quote I have is direct Chch to Australia, not via Auckland. The one nice thing about it is that I can stop off in Australia on the way back, which helps me to justify the price, but also makes me wonder if I'm missing some much cheaper deal going via some other country/airline...?
