The 2nd week saw my husband, 16 year old son and myself move to Villa Bintang at Tanjung Benoa. The hotel was great and the staff very friendly. At the restaurant were Charlie and Romeo and at the swim up bar was Big Mac. The 3 of them really make this hotel a great place to stay. The rooms (we had 2) were quite large and the air con was great. We were on the ground floor so could just walk straight out the sliding doors and down to the pool. There was never anyone else in the pool (well maybe once) and it it fairly large so it was like having our own private pool. We also never had any trouble finding a sun lounge (which was much different to Ramada Bintang).
We ate at some great restaurants - La Scala (which gives you a cold towel on arrival), Casa Luna (easily the best food and Sammy playing the guitar and singing) and the Casablanca Restaurant. I would recommend all of them.
My husband did jet skiing and parsailing just at the back of the hotel which he really enjoyed. I loved the hotel we stayed at but, for me at least, I found Tanjung Benoa a bit quiet (as did our 16 year old).
Without hesitation the highlight of this week was the day we had at Kuta Beach that Gwenda organised with children from an orphanage in Denpasar. They were just wonderful and the day went by so fast. I cannot thank Gwenda enough for this experience and I hope when I go back next time to be able to see these children again. I shall never forget the smiling faces and the 3 legged races. So Gwenda thanks again!
Next part will be on Sanur.
