thanks for the interesting report. look forward to more. it is hard to imagine all those restaurants along the beach gone. we did hear at bonsai that they may be asked to take down their building. it is such a delightful spot, but without shade- not the same. Many of the shelters are a bit tacky, though, so hopefully some compromise can be reached. i agree with rob2- lot of character will go from the beachfront if it becomes too sterile.
