The Jimbaran Bay "Experience" is just that.

As Barong Naga said, "there is nothing I like better than fresh seafood, prepared right on the beach" & "pricing, I think it's relative". If in OZ you can enjoy great seafood cheaper, then by all means do so and avoid Jimbaran".

His other point about commissions paid to drivers - YES, this is "standard" in Bali.

As for your comment that 50% of the bill goes to the driver .. they wish ! Yes they get a commission - everyone in Bali gets a commission for just about everything. I know it, the person next to you knows it - now you know it.

And when you go to Bali, of cause you want cheap stuff, but when it comes to a great seafood meal (or any meal in Bali) do you want a copy version of that as well ?

And as for price, we paid about AU$33 per person for a VERY NICE meal at the New Melasti Cafe twice this year. This was drinks (jungle juice and bintangs) fish, prawns, crays etc .... YUM !
For the same type of meal in Melbourne at the Melbourne Oyster Bar would (and has) cost us 3 times this .... without the sunset !

Commissions to the Balinese ... so what !
- think about giving back just a little of what you take home
