It is in a great position opposite Kuta beach, and only a few minutes walk into the Kuta shopping area.
The Hotel is very clean, the breakfasts (in the dining room on 4th floor) are great with plenty of variety, and a lovely view out to sea. There is a rooftop pool also on 4th floor, and plenty of space up there to spread out.
Their are security guards at the front street to check all incoming vehicles. That makes you feel safe.
Perhaps the most outstanding thing was the friendliness of all the staff...our guide, who visits many hotels, commented that she found the Mercure staff to be particularly friendly, compared to others.
Make sure you get the bedding configuration you want. When we arrived they wanted to give us a room with two single beds. My wife said "no way", and we got another room with a 'gianormous'one. The place is very clean, and althogh the room was not 'big' we had a good size bathroom with bath and shower and a "Western"-style toilet (very important). Bottled water was provided free each day.
If you need anymore than this, let me know. We would highly recommend it, and not hesitate to stay there again.
