I was impressed with the reviews I'd read in guidebooks and their website and actually had my travel agent book us into the Bali Spirit. Buth then she suggested the Alam Jiwa and a couple other hotels in the same price range.
I did extensive research on this and other forums and locations on the internet. I found glowing reviews of the Alam Jiwa. Not so with the Bali spirit. Actually, I couldn't find many comments at all from people who had stayed there recently.
The main disadvantage, for me, that I found for the Bali Spirit, was noise. It is now located near a main road that has been built and the traffic can be a little noisy. It is closer to the center of town than the Alam Jiwa, but still a bit of a walk. From the Alam Jiwa you can walk through the monkey forest to town. Both places provide cars for dinner transport.
I hope you find someone who has actually stayed there.
