as been going on in bali for yrs.a german friend of ours was tricked , whilst on Kuta beach taking shots of the sun set. was told his sis was learning the german language, would he come to there place and help her!well! when he got there no sis, but asked to play cards, was given drink to make him kinda fuzzy, then they say he owe lots, and insisted he go to atm and withdraw more cash.
This friend was on his way to NZ hence he was short on cash and had to return to germany.was reported to police , and was not familier at that time with bali, but an idea he was taken to denpasar,
We know this is true, as we happened to be in bali year later with this friend, when guy came up to him ask if they caught the guys, as he was guy (balinese) that tried to help him find these guys.
Fortunately did not put our friend off going to bali and we meet up every year.
As i say this was some 6 yrs ago so as been going on , and nothing new, just have to be very cautious.
