amex ones as when we last travelled there (may/june 2003 and many previous times) you can cash the cheques at branches of Lloyds bank for free (check whether they need to be UKpound cheques though only)whereas other banks charges a fee. And the Bureau de changes places, while looking attractive and offering o charges can often make up for it in given lower rates of exchange (though not always).
