I can't comment on the hotel but I can make some suggestions re 13 year old son's !
I'm sure your son will love Bali,our son is the same age .He'll be able to get PS2,gameboy games,DVD's so cheaply.Heaps of great clothes a lot cheaper than home.Waterbom park,Surfing lessons or just hiring a board,swimming in the pool & ordering mocktails,Timezone at Matathari's & Ramayana ,white water rafting.
I really can't imagine that many 13 year old boys being interested in a kids club.If there are not a lot of teenagers at the hotel go down to S & S & you'll probably find other forumites there with teenagers that your son could hang around with.
