My remarks about the cruelty to animals argument was, of course, directed to the two Westerners who immediately applauded your original posting. Strange at it may seem, Balinese are not especially known for their kindness to animals.
I agree to bookmark this page and revisit the subject in one year from now. My bet is that places such as the permanent, well-kept cockfighting area, just south of Blahbatuh (near Blagsinga), where I have often accompanied my Tjok friend, will still be hosting its daily fights.
