well it's all over , my heart is absolutely breaking , my daughter hates school and wants to live in Bali and life sucks now that we are back home . It is only Saturday we arrived and we are already saving for our next trip . I have been to Bali since 1970's and too many trips to remember , but had not been back for 5 years due to everything and where flying to Fiji instead. But I promise Bali is safe it's wonderful it's better than ever and no more Fiji , more of Bali .
We stayed at the most amazing vila called Villa Ani Ani on Umalas Kauh , Kerobokan . What a fantastic experience the villa was amazing , open plan 3 bedroom 3 bathroom with 5 fantastic staff that will look after you like you never have been looked after before . Sounds great ?? lots of $$$ no $120 US per night . We stayed 14 amazing days , the pool was huge thou hubby and daughter suffered earache that was sorted out quickly . Shopping was the best and thanks to the forum I bought a surfboard cover and filled with stuff and had no problem getting thru . Geneva was the best shopping and the shops along Jl Legian right up past Seminyak are the best . Kuta is Kuta awful !!! and we where so glad to be staying in beautiful Kerobokan in the rice fields , very quiet but close to everything it never cost us more than $3.00 for Taxis to Legian or Kuta . How anyone can stay in Kuta amazes me but each to there own. The restaurants on Jl Laksmasa are great . Rumours is cheap and fabulous . La Luciola is amazing everyone has to eat there . The view is amazing . The Lounge room is beautiful . Also the best clinic and not expensive is on the Jl Laksmasa , it is clean and the Doctor speaks perfect English and was fantastic with my daughter . All locals use them.Denpassar Matahari was fantastic for childrens winter clothing and runners and shoes , do yourself a favour and check it out. We used banks to change cash and never had a problem , forget the moneychangers not worth the hassle . Nyepi Day was amazing the night before we all had to go around the compound and beat drums and anything loud to scare the bad spirits away , it was alot of fun . The next day Nyepi was so quiet but if you are prepared there is no problems , we hung around the pool then had an early dinner , no lights but the stars from the villa that night where amazing.
We went for a great horse ride from Umalas Equestrian Centre thru the rice fields , the horses are fabulous and you should now how to ride a little bit as these horses are not your typical school horses , they are fantastic and huge !!!
All in all it was the best trip we have had in years and we are now investigating on buying a villa and leasing it out . But we will see .
We will be back definately , in a villa there are heaps so investigate them and bargain . Well enough !!! my memories will remain and we are in love with Bali once again !!! oh no !!!
