I realise your post isn't to me but I thought I'd reply anyway.
This isn't meant to sound like an "I'm an expat so bow down before me" post but the way you view things, like the experience of shopping at Makro, is different when you have to do it every week. Imagine if you went to BigW (that was my local one back in Australia, I don't know if it's yours) and EVERY time you went there were huge lines, 20 cash registers but only 2 of them open, and the people that worked there appeared to be working under water.
If you only have to deal with it on holiday your own attitude is different and it can actually be part of the holiday experience because it's a novely but I promise you would quickly grow tired of it if you were forced to endure it on any kind of permanent basis.
If not then you have infintely more patience than I!
