A few years ago a mate lost his safety deposit box key and was charged $100 US dollars for them to open the box.
We thought this was a bit harsh and decided to watch them open the box.
A locksmith came with a big drill and a diamond tip and still took about a hour to open the box.
in short the boxes are fine i have left cash in them and will continue to do so.
(this may not be correct in cheap hotels ie 1 star )
