Dutch owned, and still operated like it's the last bastion of Dutch colonial power in Bali. New definitions of abject stupidity can be found there, and since so many visitors have spent hours in line waiting to get to Bali, why not make them wait a few more to make their purchase? No argument that the prices for large quantity purchases are good. But the flaming hoops one has to negotiate in order to take advantage of the discount prices, are in my mind, not even close to being worth it. Do I shop there? Hell no! I drive my pembantu there, she goes in with the shopping list, and I hang out at the open bar in front savoring Bintangs.
