It's really up to your personal choice. Ubud is very pretty and more cultural than say Kuta, Legian, Tuban, Sanur, Nusa Dua. It is quieter and is a nice place to relax, unwind, have plent of spa treatments, look at stone carvings, art. Has some really nice restaurants... I think 4 nights would be fine. We stayed there a night this year and it was great. I wouldn't stay more than 4 nights, but that is my personal choice.
