Just show up at the airport and take the first available. No real need to book in advance. I never did in my last 6 trips anyway.
For accomodation: the main area in Lombok is Sengiggi. It is a 20 minute trip by taxi from the airport.
Check some of the hotel sites on accommodation on Lombok.
If you are in to something more special, but also basic: consider staying a few days at one of the Gili's. Three small islands just off Lombok.
No motorized traffic, basic accommodation and a international crowd of young people.
Go to Gili Trawangan for the parties. A party goes on every night overthere. Sengiggi was kind a dull when I was there las September.
