always seemed to have a meter that went a LOT faster than the blue ones. Quite astoundingly so. It got to the stage that if I had no choice and had to take a white taxi, I didn't tip them, as they were getting an average of 15.000 more than the blue drivers anyway. The others we always overpaid, & on more than a few times, they tried to give us the extra back, which always struck me as awesomely honest. After all, what difference does $1 or 2 make to me, it makes a lot to them, doesn't it? Just my observations.
