NO.would you be paying the same taxi fare at home,wherever that may be, that you where paying years ago??? so why should taxis in bali be charging the same??.There is a taxi firm who pay a concession (fee)to operate from the airport and obviously they need to recuperate their fees so you can expect to have to pay a surcharge,as you do in many airports world wide,this surcharge is/or was a couple of months ago around rp10,000 (aus$2/us$1) over and above what a "normal" taxi would cost you for the return journey,which is not a lot and because the prices are fixed you know what you are paying and are not subject to either "meter broken you give me rp????????? or meters that are apparently working but spin a lot faster than they should do,this happens world wide also and it is easy (apparently) to do.
