Hi there, I have also been rafting with Sobek on Ayung River but went rafting last week with Bali Rafting Co. on the Telaga Waja river.

Firstly, we only booked the day before in Kuta through Made's Tours and got a 60% discount off the price in the brochure. We said we only wanted to pay 200000rp and ended up paying 230000rp ($AU43.40!).

We were picked up at our hotel at about 8am and then it took about 2 hours to drive up to the river. The scenary was absolutely fantastic and the water was crystal clear. This river is not as wide as the Ayung so the rafts used are smaller and only have maximium 5 people. There were also families with children rafting and the kids had a great time

You spend about 2 - 2.5 hours actually rafting and I found this river to be heaps more fun as there were rapids all the way and therefore you don't have to paddle as much. We past lots of waterfalls and stopped at one to get out and take a photo under it so don't forget your camera. At the end of the trip you go down a 3 metre drop over a dam wall which was great fun.

Then we had a climb up to the showers and restaurant and buffet lunch was included. We had no problems with this rafting company but Sobek and Bali Adventure Tours also do rafting on this river.

Just go, it was a fantastic experience and great value at $43.
