The airport taxis represent organized robbery, theft and financial rape. They are bad, bad people who should be rounded up by the government and drowned in the Benoa harbor for public amusement, along with several members of the airport immigration and a short ugly fellow from Garuda whose name I have forgotten. And of course all members of the Kintamani Guides Guild - they belong in that group too.

The airport taxis charge Rp 55 000 for a trip to Sanur. They follow the fuzzy-logic of Indonesian finance - the less demand, the higher the price. Walk out the arrival gate, turn right walk the 75 m up to the domestic arrival area continue for another 20 m toward the main gate and 20 people will be more than willing to drive you to Sanur for 20 000. Can't really say how much for Kuta. 20, 50 or 100 000 - I couldn't really care, but I just don't like to be ripped off. The blue bird taxis outside the gate are half the price. I can remember when the airport taxis were 16 500 for a trip to Sanur, and they would even help you lift the luggage out of their cars.

Anyway, hello to all. I know I promised to keep in touch so this is my regular 6 months check-in. Back in Europe for a short break away from my hard life in paradise. Are we all still fighting? Someone tried to stab me with a virtual broken bottle last time I was here.

Cheers,
Charlie.
