Qantas only fly to Bangkok direct from Sydney. You may be able to get a package from Perth bu it would mean a couple of cross Australia flights either end. From Bangkok to Phuket is a short flight on Thai. BKK-HKT-BKK flights are all one price on Thai, being about $200 in economy or just under $300 in business. If you can get one of the two daily international flights that connect to Phuket via Bangkok, business class is deinatley worth it. You get international J class service as well as use of the lounges at both ends. Probably the cheapest way though is a package from Thai. Prices for 14 nights incl. airfare start at around $980.
