The Great Outdoors brought tears to my eyes as well. Andrew Daddo walked around Jln Legian, Kuta markets, the beach, past (I think) Made's Warung, Poppies Lane, Jimbaran Bay, Kuta Square, the bomb sites of Paddy's and Sari Club. He talked to locals, and tourists. All the Australians he spoke too had been there many times before.
They showed empty restaurants, and virtually empty Kuta Markets.
He mentioned that prices were good for the cheaper hotels, but the upmarket hotels were also offering good deals.
Yes, he mentioned DFAT warnings a couple of times, but I guess the show's producers can't be seen to be encouraging people to ignore the warnings and go there. Daddo stressed that it was a personal decision that only we could make.
Prices at the end of the show were only for Garuda flights.
I guess you could try to check it out on the Great Outdoors website as noosa_blue suggests.
Anyway, I'm off to Bali in 4 weeks. Haven't even told my husband I'm going yet! Oops!!!!
