We stayed at the Melasti Beach and it was good. But you need a suite room the double rooms are quite small. Anywhere from The Bali Mandira down to Seminyak is nice and quiet. The access road is good at night as you can use it to access restaurants etc without getting too hassled. Tha beach is quite nice though not absolutely beautiful. Our experience of Sanur is only to catch a boat over to Nusa Lembongan and the beach is pretty yucky.
Nusa Lemongan is worth a trip for a day or two if you want clean sand and water and if you surf it is worth a long stay. Good snorkelling and diving trips as well.
