Sorry but I disagree again about the surf at Sanur. My husband and I have been going to Sanur now for the past 12 years and quite often we have sat at a restaurant on the beach and watched the surfies ride the surf in Sanur. (Not every day is the surf up I must admit) On a couple of occasions we have had to shift as the wash was splashing us at the table we were sitting at, so that explains how close to the ocean these restaurants are. One time an Aussie surfie had grazed all of his back as he landed on the reef.
Another good thing with Sanur is that all the restaurants are right on the beach, so at lunch time just wrap your sarong around you and off up the beach you go for a pizza and a very cold bintang.
It really depends on what the individual wants.
