Sorry but I must disagree about the beaches in Sanur. The tide comes and goes and when it is in it is beautiful for swimming and is protected by a reef. When the tide is out you are able to take a lovely walk out on the reef and it is so interesting to see the tides change.
At the front of The Grand Bali Beach the sand is white with quite a lot of shade from the trees and lounges on the beach as well as inside around the pool. When the tide is out we swim in the pool.
Sanur is on the quiet side but certainly nothing wrong with the beaches.
