Coming from England I think I know what you might be looking for. Sanur bears absolutely no resemblance to Southend !!. The water is shallow in Sanur but the beachfront is very relaxing with plenty of nice restauants/bars and its just great to amble along. Also take a taxi ride to Nusa Dua ( about £3.00 each way ) and you will find another lovely beach setting and the water is definitely very shallow here but absolutely nothing like it in England.The sand is pretty white in Nusa Dua. I would not be rushed into changing the resort just because of the depth of water. Taxi fares are so cheap that you could explore all beaches at low cost.
