As everyone probably knows, I am 'the friend' referred to by Kaz in her post. I organised for her to stay at the Huts and in between her making the booking and coming to Bali I left the employ of Bali Hai Cruises (BHC).
As I'm no longer at BHC it is no skin off my nose whether they get hammered here on the forum or not however as en ex employee of over 9 years I feel obliged to say something out of loyalty to the company due the amount of crap flying around here by people that know nothing about this situation. Sorry if this upsets you Kaz but nothing I post here can be disputed and both sides need to be given in order that people have a fair opinion.
1. To all the people bandying around Dick's name and email addy, Bali Hai management read this forum and I personally forwarded the link to Kaz's post to them. They have seen it and if they wanted to make a statement they would have.
2. The BHC Manager here in Bali has been in his position for 12 years, almost as long as the company has been operating. This is one of the toughest times the company has faced (no I'm not about to use that as an excuse for bad service) but if anyone will get them through it will be him. BHC Perth has faith in him so running to Dick is pointless. Personally if I wanted something done it would be the Bali Manager I would approach, for everyone's future reference. If you email the BHC bali address it will get to him.
3. Kaz did not pay for her second night at the Huts, I gave it to her for free when I made the original booking. This has absolutely no relevance to her problems, whether she paid or not has nothing to do with the standard of service, however it does show that she was financially not as hard done by as she implies.
4. The voucher that Kaz presented for her accommodation was not in it's original form. I am not accusing Kaz of 'doctoring' it however I am stating that some things appear to have been added/ altered by someone in handwriting. I was called and asked about the additions and I knew nothing about them.
5. No one at BHC is working full time for half pay. Of the MANY tourist operations here in Bali including Sobek, Waterbom and some of the hotels, BHC is the ONLY one that I know of that has kept all the staff and managed to keep them on the full hourly pay. If that doesn't demonstrate good management then f*ck me I don't know what does!
6. I have no intention of addressing each point in Kaz's statement one by one, I was not there so any comments I make would be hearsay and no more valid than most of the other comments made re Kaz's post.
Kaz I'm sorry you are no longer a fan of Bali Hai Cruises.
While I am, of course, flattered that you liked it so much when I was there, the company was never me alone. You also liked many of the crew, and they are all still there, they are still working as hard as ever, and they need your support more than ever.
