Just take normal prints and scan them to cd when the film is developed or scan the prints. Digital cameras are a tad over-rated ... you can do the same with film with the advantage that you get your prints and negatives as well as scans. The only advantage with the digital camera is being able to view the images instantly and not having to deal with film - vs fiddling with downloads, heavy batteries, and all the wires and other stuff you need to save the digital images. Email sized images do not make for very good prints.
