Alot of people are still holding tickets with a wait and see attitiude. If the travel warning doesn't get lifted they won't travel but if does get lifted they will. The airlines are then caught in a situation of trying to guess what the future will hold. Remember that people on this forum love Bali and are happy to go. The average client I deal with doesn't feel as safe, especaily first time travellers. Les obviuosly has a big Bali market and is very determined to get things up and running (as we all are) asap but a lot of people just won't go. The fact I went up to Bali and can tell clients its fine helps, but the DFAT warning plays too big of a part. I have booked alot of Indonesian students returning home for the summer break and I think this helps to fill up the flights. I don't think the demand for Bali is as high as mentioned on this forum, and Jan/Feb is traditionally a quiet time. The airlines are almost in a no win situation but running a travel business I have to look at what the market wants and the airlines I'm sure are doing the same.
