AndyG. Flights ARE still overbooked. I lost a party of 6 this morning who wanted to fly ex Melbourne on 5th December (2 Executive and 4 Economy) with Garuda. By some quirk of fate, could get them out and Executive Class passengers back to Melbourne but NOT Economy Class. Between Denpasar and Melbourne, 10 Dec has 80 on waitlist, 11 December 62 and 12 December 89.

Now, even with regular Excursion Fares requiring ticketing 30 days before travel, I would have assumed that all passengers for whom Garuda is holding confirmed space have already been ticketed.

So...what happens to those on wait-lists who still want to travel?

This is why I believe that it is necessary for airlines to "bight the bullet" and re-introduce flights to handle the waitlisted passengers plus those from whom agents (and I am sure I'm not the only one) are receiving firm requests for bookings.

Basically, regarding the "Advisory", whilst we are getting a steady flow of enquiries while it is at its present level, imagine the increase in bookings if Advisory was relaxed and Airlines/Wholesalers/Agents could actually embark on promotional programmes!!

Hope that clears-up from where I was coming in what I wrote.
