Was in denpasar several times. Once at the gold markets, whilst I was the only westerner there I felt as safe as I will always be. I found that people went out of their way to be friendlier and make eye contact to reassure you. Another evening my boyfriend and I went to the cinemas at Denpasar again the only westerner there. As safe as it will ever be... remember in Oz we now have to keep a lookout for terrorists.. no difference.
