my parents are in their 70's and returned Friday after 3 weeks in paradise. They said they never felt unsafe. They went to Denpasar 3 times to shop and several trips to the hills to show some first timers around. They were glad to be able to help the locals. Their cases weighed 90 kgs so shopping wasn't a problem.
