My husband and I stayed there in July - we were the only guests. It's at Penastanan - you turn sharp left just across the bridge over the river. The price on arrival was high $US but we bargained for $AU30. The rooms are big and a nice verandah. The gardens are small and gorgeous. And there's a lovely pool and seating area. The hotel is only on a small piece of land, so you probably wouldn't want to be there with lots of guests. We enjoyed it because it was out of a now very commercialised Ubud, but within walking distance of what you want to do in Ubud - be in the rice fields next to gorges in the hills. Our first outing was a lovely circular walk down into Ubud, down to the Monkey Forest, out through to the artisan village, turn right then up through the rice fields until you arrive back at the hotel.
