' The Indonesian Hotels' Association reported yesterday that occupancy rates in Bali had sunk to just 4 per cent, down from an instimated 11 per cent last week. One big hotel chain was reporting just 3 per cent occupancy and another had closed. The drop-off meant the number of hotel and restaurant meals being ordered would drop by one million a month.'
Also, WA trade commissioner in Indonesia Ross taylor 'said the early evidence from Balinese industry groups showed about 150,000 Balinese had been stood down from their jobs since the bombing.' There has to be a far greater unknown figure then this.
