Hi Thorsten, I read your plan posting with interest. Contact me.
Rotary are well represented in Bali, and I've established a pretty good network of people on the island. I'm sure I can pass info on to them, or put you in touch with them.
I know Paul has done some excellent work by identifying the availability of vehicles in Australia, but the authorities want money for them, or they won't donate vehicles to Paul or myself (fair enough I guess).
If the right people on the scene in Bali are put in touch with the people who can supply the vehicles can be put together then we may achieve success. Right now, some of that is happening.
In reality, Australian rural fire trucks would be best. They carry water tanks and pumps. It may actually be practical to fit out a mitsubishi or toyota minivan as an ambulance because of the ability to run and maintain the vehicle.
Even if the vehicles are from Australia or Asia, there is no reason why a German service club or charity could not purchase the vehicles from Austrlia or even from Bali.
Training and operational management will be ongoing. Take a look at BaliSOS.com for the appeal they have launched and contacts.
