McPhee wrote a well known book in 1944 (I think), called A House In Bali. There's a note in the back of the book:
Three of the author's transcriptions for two pianos of Balinese gamelan music have been published by G. Schirmer of New York. Under the title "Balinese Ceremonial Music,"* the same firm has recorded an album of these transcriptions, which includes music from the shadow-play, arja flute melodies and the ceremonial music which opens a temple feast. A second album, which will include music from the Gamelan of Semar the Love God and music played only during death rites, is being planned."
*Chappell & Co. Ltd. are the London agents for these records.
