DOes anyone have any Colin McPhee music. I've never found any in Oz. This guy was a fascinating case. He was an American classical composer who went to Bali in the 1930's. He composed a bit of stuff I gather, but was best known for his book published in 1964 called something like 'Music in( or of) Bali. His most famous musical work was called Tabu-tabuan (there may be a couple of missing "h's" in there. What he did was compose amazing sounding stuff-Balinese style music-but for Western instruments. We all love the sound of Gamelan music, but to me it fundamentally doesn't make sense. McPhee's music did. It didn't have the same style of stop and start. Anyway, anyone got any they can send?
