Thank you, Roy. My wife and I are retiring and moving to Bali next summer. We have made a few good friends in the expat community around Ubud during our visits over the past few years, and generally find your observations to be true. We had not been able to express these thoughts as clearly as you, however. We have naturally thought and fantasized a great deal about what life is to be like, and of course have many plans about projects to undertake, etc. However, we have come to understand that the reality may be quite different. What your post helps us realize is that Bali gives us the gift of actually welcoming the difference between what we anticipate and what we find once we get there. Thanks again....
