I actually rang mobile net (telstra) and they told me it was approximately $7.35 a minute to call home (to australia) with international roaming connected to your mobile.
If someone from home rang you on your mobile it would only cost approximately $1.35 a minute. A big difference!!!!
Another cheaper option would be to obtain a homeaway card from the post office. They come in $10, $20 or $50 cards. They can be topped up by your credit card. The call charge would be $1.15 per minute plus connection. You can only do this from your hotel room and not a public phone. This is the way i am going... Plus my husband can ring me on the mobile from Australia in between my calls to him.
Hope this has helped.
Cheers Tina Only 13 more sleeps to go. Yippee.
