I should explain that the question about disappearing messages was prompted because it seemed that the shepherd/duck message was there one minute and then the next it wasn't. Couldn't find what was wrong because it appeared under search, but not on the main screen. Must have been some sort of glitch.
For the record, I'm more than happy with the FA removing obnoxious messages and like most others, believe he does a great job!
