the driver we actually wanted is recommended both at this travel forum and also at the Our Bali site... I can't say how he is as he was fully booked on the days we required and had therefore referred us to his "apprentice/partner/team member" whom he "puts his reputation on". to be fair, the driver/guide we had was enthusiastic and friendly. though his youth is a bit telling and his english takes a while to get used to. we dont believe that we had been very demanding or anything like that. our pace was easy. there was just the two of us. we had some meals together... you know what i mean. we were happy with him till the last bit of, in our opinion, dishonesty.
probably the lesson to be learnt here is not to agree to taking an alternative driver/partner. and never to believe in a "complimentary" service.
if you wish to have his name. do leave your email address and i will email you the name. i dont want to affect the original driver as he might be perfectly ok
