Hiya - it depends on what you are looking for in your holiday - eg peace, relaxation, fun, shopping, etc

We always stay a week in Sanur and a week in Kuta or Tuban. Its very hustly bustly in Kuta and nice and peaceful and relaxing in Sanur. We like to get a balance because after awhile Sanur gets a bit boring for us and we like to move onto Kuta. There is more to do for your kids in Kuta such as timezone, waterbomb park, go karts, etc

As for hotel - again depends on style of holiday you are looking for. If you want to live the bbali culture first hand and want friendly touch then go for one of the smaller hotels. Ive stayed at Swastika but many years ago - its budget but has a wonderful friendly feel and you dont just feel like one of a number.

Another option in Sanur is raddison - its quite a walk from other hotels but has a free shuttle and does have a program of activities for kids, etc and I know they are doing good deals with prices at the moment - very clean, modern.

Its such a tough decision recommending anything because it depends on so many variables and the style of holiday you are after.

good luck - sorry for rambling on
