It sounds like you might want to spend most of your time in Ubud. It's kind of an artists' area, and most of the nicer hotels overlook a tropical-looking, very verdant and peaceful river valley. A lot of people posting here think it's Nirvana - we tend to prefer rocky-mountain type scenery and weren't that taken by it, but it might be ideal for honeymooning, sitting around enjoying the view from your veranda whilst sipping something tropical.

Up there you almost certainly will want a driver at your beck and call, at least after a few days of vegging. The hotels are pretty isolated. As you probably know that'll set you back around US$20 per day if you want someone for the whole day, clearly a bargain if it fits your budget.

After you tire of that you'll probably want to spend a few days in the Kuta region sampling the faster tourist life and filling your bags with "stuff." Gotta buy copy watches, copy tee shirts, etc. in great abundance. Read my posting up higher about Bali Cliff, a place that might also suit your demeanor. There are also all the really fancy international hotel chains, if you're putting on the dog.
