We had the two shows here in Melbourne about 2 weeks ago. The Flight Centre show was set up to purchase travel on that day at very reasonable prices. The Getaway show was purely an exhibition.. . lots of booths promoting their particular destinations.
We (8 persons) purchased our package to Malaysia at the Flight Centre show last year, and boy! did we save some money (about $A700/couple).
The Getaway show is good to attend as you'll walk out with enough brochures on enough destinations to keep one happily reading for weeks.
