Hi Joanna,
I was married in Bali January 2001 at the Bali Intercontinental Hotel at Jimbaran Bay. Even though it is a 5 star resort the Wedding was quite affordable and a beautiful setting. I am Anglican and my husband is Catholic and this was my 2nd marriage and we had no problems at all. If you get married at the more expensive hotels they have packages and they organise everything for you. For 600 USD we had the ceremony organised with a priest and someone from the registry to marry us, balinese decorations, two balinese flower girls to walk me from the room throwing flowers in front - it was lovely. They can also organise flowers and a photographer too. I emailed the hotel and spoke to a girl named Sulis - she was fantastic and organised the lot - I even spoke with her on the phone a few times. You will need to fill out some forms which she can send to you and when you get to Bali you will need to visit the Australian Consulate to get a certificate for marriage it costs about 150.000 rup. The hotel was beautiful and we were married on the beach and had a small cocktail reception there afterwards - then we hired a limousine (possible the only one in Bali I have ever seen before) and went to a restaurant in Legian called Wayan & Friends - Candlelite and lovely food and they let us play our music for the bridal dance. It was the best night of my life you won't regret it! You can save alot of money registering the wedding through the hotel as Bali Wedding Int'l wanted to charge us $1,000 AUD to just register the marriage. I hope this has been helpful. We are returning to Bali in March - I can't wait to visit the spot where we were married what a wonderful memory!
