As much as some would wish it, Si Badak is NOT Sembot and I am not Si Badak. Badak's yarn is in essence true. I was in fact in that situation and was extending some old fashioned Aussie hospitality to a couple of impecunious Canadians stranded in the Bada Vally. As I did the ordering and it went on my bill, it was assumed that I was drinking the lot! I in fact ordered in a couple of crates from outlying villages. God knows how long they had had the stuff. We dumped it in a nearby stream and confused the local with the old "Coolgardie safe" trick.
Sorry to say that this area is now riven with sectarian violence and the Lascar Jihad have most likely destroyed any remaining stocks of Bintang.
So, to those rather pathetic doubters of Si Badak, sorry you have got it wrong again.
