He knows you AND has been to Bali so he should be a pretty good judge of how ready you are for this experience of a lifetime, I would think. I grew up on Lake Michigan and have lived in Hawai'i for 30 years so Bali's beaches weren't that big a deal for me on my first trip there this October. But everyting else was so wonderful I can't wait to return (in March). The people are a joy to interact with. If you are sweet to them, your goodwill will return to you doubled. The culture is facinating. The scenery is fabulous. The food is wonderful and everything is SO CHEAP! Your airfare will be such a HUGE part of your total cost that you will be really glad, I predict, if you decide to lengthen your stay to at least 10 days. You could spend a few "honeymoon" days in some lovely, expensive hotel (or in some lovely, LESS expensive hotel) and then find a perfectly charming CHEAP place for the rest of your stay. You'll spend less on food than you would at home. It just won't cost much to add that glorious second week. Best wishes for your upcoming marriage and I hope you love Bali as much as I do. Aloha!
